  • 2 turkey legs about 1 kg total
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 onions finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 1 bell pepper chopped
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 250 ml water or broth

Instructions

  • Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onions and cook until golden.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and paprika, then quickly add a little water to prevent burning.
  • Add the turkey legs and brown them on all sides.
  • Add the chopped tomato and bell pepper.
  • Season with salt and pepper, pour in the water or broth.
  • Cover and simmer on low heat for about 1.5–2 hours, until the meat is tender and sauce is thick.
  • Serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta.

Notes:
You can replace turkey with chicken or pork. For a richer flavor, add a spoon of sour cream before serving.
